We had such a busy weekend that our anniversary flew by yesterday. Antoine and I were exhausted, we laid down for what we thought was a nap, but ended up being a good night sleep in our clothes with the lights and TV on all night. So basically, we spent our anniversary napping. LOL
I can’t believe we’ve been married for 17 years and have known each other for 27. I know we’re getting older, but it doesn’t seem like it. I’d like to believe it’s the joy the Lord has given us that keeps us young. We’ve had continuous joy even during the tough times like in 2009 with my mother’s diagnosis and subsequent death from breast cancer or in 2006 when Antoine received one of those dreaded letters telling him he would be losing his job in two months. I think the joy we have has given some people the impression that we’re living on Easy Street. NOT! We have difficult times like everyone else. We cling to the Lord! The scripture that comes to mind is Psalm 30:5 For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime! Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning.
Marriage takes effort from both sides. A LOT OF EFFORT!! I’m looking forward to all the years Antoine and I have together. I’m also looking forward to putting in more EFFORT!
LOVE HARD & ON PURPOSE!
Just blogging it out . . . Oh and HAPPY BELATED ANNIVERSARY TO US!!
